Maybe you’re gonna think I’m not orriginal and well, that’s true. Going to India, first I was heading for Mumbai – guess the most touristic detination all over India! But I don’t care, thought I like exploring unknown, unexplored places I decided I must visit Mumbai since not without reason that city is so popular – it’s incredible, wonderful and it’s a must at yourr must see list if you dare to call yourself a voyager. Ok, let’s start from the beginning, Mumbai is the richest city of Maharastra and by the way it’s the capital of the state. Except the city is one of the biggest agglomerations all over the world, it is also the most populated place on the Earth – inhabited by over 20 millions people! Wow! Unfortunatelly, though Mumbai is the national industry centre, it is also a centre of poverty… Indeed, there live rich people but there are even more very very poor people. Another frightening fact is that almost 20% of men and 30% of women are unalphabetics. However, Mumbai is very cultural-rich city and just there Bollywood has come into being. Lots of movie studios, cinemas, radio and tv stations… this city has legs! But i’s gonna be a long time before the level of the people’s life level-off. What impressed me the most in Mumbai was its cultural hrritage. Mumbai has much to offer regarding meorials and antiquities. All the colorful buildings and decorations show the cultural richness of the region. The scenery just makes you feel like in a fairy tale. The city is just fabulous!
Obviousy Mumbai was not the only place I have visited in India. It was a must becouse it’s a quintessence of the Indic culture, art, tradition and so on, but the true is that what I always look for when I go to another country are unpopular, unexplored places that are waiting for me to explore! That’s why after two intensive days in Mumbai I went straight to Dodpur.
